Trust Centre Policy
How Provenance Works
How source records, generation records, and AI labels fit together.
Source-Controlled Doc
This public page is rendered from product-development/trust-and-safety/public-policy/source-and-provenance-policy.md.
Purpose
Provenance connects an AI-assisted output to its source object, generation record, and public controls. The goal is to make generated content reviewable without presenting it as the official record.
AI Icon
The AI icon marks AI-assisted text. Depending on the content, it can open an original-source toggle, a generation-detail record, or a report form.
Source Toggle
Where source text is available, users should be able to compare generated copy with the parliamentary source context that grounded it.
Generation Records
- New Prompt Orchestra backed outputs can link to a generation detail page.
- Detail pages show available output, source, inputs, prompt, model, timestamp, and validation data.
- Secrets, private reviewer notes, security-sensitive instructions, and personal user data are redacted.
- Older generated content may be marked as legacy or missing a generation record.
Authoritative Source
The official parliamentary source remains authoritative. Parliament People summaries are designed to help users navigate that source material, not to replace it.
