Liz Twist asked how the Government will build more genuinely affordable homes locally, while Matthew Pennycook said £39bn of social and affordable housing bids are being assessed and the Social Housing Bill will reverse right-to-buy changes to support more social rented homes.

Ministers said local leaders will get more powers and over £3bn for bus services, but did not commit to funding the national £3 fare cap beyond March 2027, saying its impact and value for money are being reviewed.
