Ministers back transport investment for border communities in England and Wales
MPs pressed the Government on whether it will fund better rail and road links for people who rely on cross-border travel for work, education and healthcare, especially in the Forest of Dean and along the England-Wales border. Lucy Rigby said the Government is working with the Welsh Government on rail plans and pointed to £445 million for Welsh rail improvements, including investment at Padeswood on the Wrexham to Liverpool line; she also said ministers want growth to reach border areas and beyond.
