Lords questioned the Government over a Social Market Foundation report warning that misinformation is spreading through social media and local news gaps; ministers pointed to the Online Safety Act, election security work, media literacy plans and £12m for local newsrooms, but made no new commitment on stronger platform rules or funding for local democracy reporting.
