Peers press ministers over ticket touting and the scope of new powers for major sports events
The Lords challenged whether the Sporting Events Bill is too narrowly focused on one-off events such as Euro 2028, with ministers resisting wider duties on strike disruption, gambling ads, TV access and legacy, while promising a UK-wide major events strategy within 12 months and draft ticket touting legislation with no timetable for passage.
