Treasury Green Book rules and whether wellbeing should shape spending decisions
MPs pressed the Chancellor on whether the Treasury’s Green Book will be updated to give greater weight to wellbeing and help level up investment outside London and the south-east. Rachel Reeves said the government will keep considering wellbeing and has changed the rules so public investment decisions should be fairer across the UK, and she promised a ministerial meeting to discuss further improvements.
