Peers condemned the violent attack on Stephen Ogilvie in north Belfast and the disorder that followed, with particular concern for attacks on foreign nationals and families targeted in their homes. The debate also turned to immigration and the common travel area, with ministers pressed to explain how they will stop abuse of the system while insisting the immediate priority is justice for the victim, support for the Belfast community and an end to violence.
