MPs warned that losing local beds, minor injuries units, maternity care and diagnostics is forcing rural and coastal patients to travel farther and increasing pressure on A&E; ministers cited plans for neighbourhood health centres and £50m for 27 sites, but did not say how existing community hospitals will be protected and promised a fuller written response and a meeting.
