Best Start Family Hubs and whether they will reach older children and vulnerable families
Peers pressed the Government on whether the new Best Start Family Hubs will do more than support pregnancy and early years, asking for evidence that they help parents of teenagers, children with special educational needs and disabilities, young people not in education, work or training, and families affected by domestic abuse. Ministers said the programme will get more than £900 million, aim for 1,000 hubs by 2028, and be open to families with children up to 19, or 25 for those with SEND, but acknowledged delivery must be better measured and locally joined up.
