Reeves defends growth strategy as MPs press for more UK investment
The Chancellor said the economy has grown by 2.3% since July 2024 and argued that higher public investment, pension reform and changes to planning, pensions and regulation are helping growth. Opposition MPs criticised her record on taxes and borrowing, while ministers and backbenchers pressed for more of savers’ and pension funds’ money to be channelled into British businesses and infrastructure.
