Blind and partially sighted voters still lack clear support at polling stations
MPs pressed the Electoral Commission over whether blind and visually impaired people can vote independently and in secret, citing RNIB evidence that 73% did not know what help was available; the commission said tactile voting devices were in every polling station and promised an autumn report on the May 2026 elections, while accepting that clearer information and wider access issues remain unresolved.
